Rathlugh M3 protest camp

Save Tara

Sort of belated update this one, but anyway.. a couple of months ago, we brought the sound system down to Rathlugh for a party on the protest site there. The mud was so thick that bringing the whole system through was unthinkable… and as it turned out, the DJ monitors did a fine job for the size of the party anyway. Great energy, great dedicated, admirable people as you’ll always meet on a site such as this. Great techno sets from the Deviant DJs and DJ Rackitt from the Stay Up Forever Collective. Strange juxtaposition of such positive people vibes, and the knowlege that the site security front-line is just 20M away… for more on the campaign, check Click the image to view the gallery page.

Firstly, big shout to Steve for weighing in at v short notice with the rig after a day of what felt like pushing water uphill to get things organised…
It was great to be able to drown out the noise of the 24/7 generators powering the arc lights at the frontline with something nicer,ie pounding techno and happy dancin muddy peeps.
The atmosphere was great – despite an episode of lets-fall-into-the freezing-mud-neck-deep-with-Rachael’s-records-landing-underneath-
-to-break-my-fall… oops.
And to actually play a set at Rathlugh- what a privilege.
Many thanx to everyone who made this posible,
Loose-Unit, Deviant Soundsystem.
