Hey all,
Finally we have sorted out everything for the kitchen.
As previously mentioned, the first goal of the kitchen is to make sure that the crew are fed. However, we really want to be able to feed as many people as possible over the course of the festival! We have a giant pot that can cater for about 40 or 50 people and if we can use it. Brilliant.
We have decided on certain meals that we’ll be cooking at lunch and dinner – we should have porridge in the morning for anyone that wants, so don’t worry about that.
The meals are listed at the bottom of the page, and if you’re interested in being cooked for, then please have a look at the ingredients and bring one of each thing to donate to the kitchen when you arrive.
Also, we’d like to have fruit around for people to have whenever they want, so if you want to bring along some apples, oranges, watermelons, whatever, that would be great.
We have ensured that we are going to have plenty enough of all of the staple foods, so there is no need to bring rice and pasta and so on, unless it’s for personal consumption
Any food left over at the end of the festival will be given to the Hill of Tara Campaign.
Finally – we have a certain amount of disposable plates and cutlery, but if people would like to eat at the kitchen it would be great to reduce the amount of waste if you could bring your own plate and spork type thing!
Special Note:
Tea and Coffee. We intend to pretty much have tea and coffee on the go at all times during the festival. We don’t have a huge amount of mugs, so please bring your own mug and you can drop in whenever and get a cup of tea.
We have bought 3 kilos of coffee and about 300 tea bags as well as some peppermint tea. If anyone is a coffee snob, please bring along a bag of coffee and you can work away making your own. We will have hot water almost continuously. If you like a certain type of tea, better bring a box along
We’ll be making a big vat of Chai Tea at some point too.
